Since the formation of our group in 2007 we have been fortunate to receive a variety of documents from the residents of Pendle that now have a home in our archive. Some are the result of many years spent gathering together information and others are items of memorabilia that once seemed too important to throw away and now give us a fascinating insight into the daily lives of our predecessors. From the start our history group has focussed its attention on investigating the landscape of the area with organised walks and site visits to record the features that remain from earlier periods.  The majority of these activities have been written up as reports which also form part of the archive. We have much of interest you may wish to see so please download the archive document list to find a fuller description of the items available. Mapping with gps We meet regularly on a monthly basis in the Barley Village Hall on the third Wednesday of each month and we have a mixture of guest speakers, activity planning and report meetings together with field trips to consider the landscape and sites and features therein. All welcome at any of our meetings.
